Young Facebook Love: Too Young

There’s a problem with dating on Facebook that not many people like to think about. Yet, it’s a sure fire way to find yourself under fire where dating on Facebook is concerned. And although there are ways to handle various issues with dating on Facebook, there is one that you can’t fix. You see, age is more than just a number and you should consider it no matter how you are dating.

What are you supposed to do in the ungodly event that you find out that the person you have been dating on Facebook is nowhere near the age they said they were? In fact, they’re young enough to get you some hard time!

Don’t sit there trying to figure out how you didn’t guess it. Take the following steps, immediately:

1. Cut them off. No matter how intriguing they may have seemed, the fact remains that the person is not an adult. So, unless you want the Facebook police to contact your state police, cease all contact immediately. Dating a minor is illegal. If you are conflicted about your feelings, still do the right thing out of caring for them and let them grow up.
2. Change your privacy settings and block them. This will make it easier to endure that there is no inappropriate contact from either yourself or the Facebook dater.
3. There are plenty of fish in the sea and most of the daters on Facebook are looking, just like you are. Take some time off and then get back on the scene.

Not everyone is honest when dating on Facebook. It’s hard to find out that the person you care about isn’t who they said they were. Yet, this situation is serious. More than emotions are at risk, so is your freedom. Think of it this way, it’s a lot harder to find love from a jail cell.
