My online dating career is doing really well these days – I have a new little twist I want to share with you. It’s prefect for getting dates!

There are quite a lot of surfer/ skater shops in my city. You know them; Billabong – they are very cool, clean and professional and I’ve noticed that the girls that hang out there are pretty nice. To say the least!

Sooo – what does a facebookdater do? Any store is on facebook with a fan page, and this is where you want to be. Go “fan up” and let the dating begin.

Once you’re a fan of the shop then you get to see the other members – and when being a member a girl will think you have something in common. And this is, as I usually point out in the dating guide, a very good starting point.

I saw a “Maria” in my local shops fan page and I sent her the following ice breaker that normally works well on zoosk:

Me: Hi! I think I saw you in the shop the other day – funny, I wouldn’t think you’d be into this sport but nice to see you there anyway!

Her: Hi! Okay… what do you mean that I don’t look like a normal wave girl??

Me: Oh – I mean, where are the dreadlocks? I would’ve guessed you’d be a chess player, but OK;-). Kite like me or are you still to discover the BEST form of surfing?

Her: ha, NO, kite surfing is NOT the best!!!

Yea, it’s a facebookdater classic by now but it works! A little hello, a question, a tease and throwing out some bait for conversation.
