Initiate Contact When Dating
8 Aug
Let’s say you have been toying with the idea of dating on FB. You have made your profile look gleaming, scoured the 600-odd million members for potential interests and now it’s time to take the next step.
Do you feel brave enough?
Of course, you don’t really have anything to lose by saying a cheeky hello. It’s not as if you knew them in the first place and as long as you aren’t obscene in your messages, you won’t be reported for anything.
There are a couple of different ways that you can interact with the girls or boys that you like the look of. You could try and send them a friend request. Try to put a little message in the friend request box though otherwise he or she will just think that you are a crazy person or you think they are someone else. Something simple like, “Hi, you look great! I really wanted to get to know you a little bit more so I would love it if we could chat?” You could send the same thing in a message too if you wanted. By doing this, you are not forcing something. A friend request can be a little scary from a potential suitor.
One thing you should avoid when initiating contact with a potential Facebook date for the first time is writing on their wall. It will be embarrassing for them, let’s be honest! Who wants to admit that some random stranger thought they were hot publicly on Facebook? You wouldn’t scream over a crowded bar to a hot guy or girl, so don’t do it on Facebook!
There may be over 600 million members on Facebook but it is wise to remember that they probably aren’t all looking for love! Be careful when you date there and use your head; if you wouldn’t do it face to face, don’t do it on the internet!
